Book Review: Across the Universe

Plainly put, I really liked this book. It was filled with pretty much all of the greater aspects of a good book. The book is about these people who are sent to a different planet in order to start the PERFECT life. So the pretty much pack up and freeze all of these people that would eventually help build this new planet... such as military officials and DNA specialists, yadayadayada.... However, this new world is 300 years away from Earth so these people must be frozen in chambers and thawed centuries later, but problems start to occur when a teenage girl is unplugged from her chamber 50 years before her scheduled time... and so begin the lies, the mysteries and the ultimate search for the truth.
There are a lot of interesting aspects about this book and so I would recommend it. THere is a really interesting mystery entwined into all of this, and it definitely keeps you guessing until the end. Who you think is a friend becomes a foe, and vice versa. In the end, you will be left with such a twist in the story, it is astonishing. It's a really good book... and as much as I don't wanna say this because my dear sister will avoid reading it.. it is also part of a trilogy. However, it does not leave you hanging in the end, it leaves you satisfied enough. Although, the characters are very interesting so I don't see why you wouldn't want to read the second book called, "A Million Suns". Here is a basically what it's about, and I hope you pick it up soon...

Book Review from the official Across the Universe website

Amy is a cryogenically frozen passenger aboard the vast spaceship Godspeed. She expects to wake up on a new planet, 300 years in the future. But fifty years before Godspeed's scheduled landing, Amy's cryo chamber is unplugged, and she is nearly killed.
Now, Amy is caught inside an enclosed world where nothing makes sense. Godspeed's passengers have forfeited all control to Eldest, a tyrannical and frightening leader, and Elder, his rebellious and brilliant teenage heir.
Amy desperately wants to trust Elder. But should she? All she knows is that she must race to unlock Godspeed's hidden secrets before whoever woke her tries to kill again.

-Overall I would give this book an 8/10. I would  recommend it!!
